Whole-home backup is only practical when the battery and inverter can carry the load. A home battery inverter has a maximum continuous and peak output, and a ducted air-conditioner, oven, induction cooktop and electric hot water system running at once can exceed it. We check your loads honestly and, where needed, recommend excluding a few large appliances or choosing essential-circuit backup instead. You will understand exactly what runs during a blackout before you pay for it, and we show everyone at home how the system behaves when the power goes out.

Power and energy: backup is limited by the inverter's power rating and the energy left in the battery. A battery running a whole home can empty quickly if heavy loads keep running, so we set a backup reserve that holds some charge for outages.
Changeover time: switchover speed varies by system, from near-instant to a few seconds, so desktop computers and some devices may restart.
Solar during outages: with a suitable hybrid system, solar can keep recharging the battery during a daytime blackout.
