From 1 September 2026, NSW offers incentives for eligible business batteries, from 20 kWh up to large commercial and industrial scale. The incentive can make a real difference to a battery business case, but it depends on meeting program requirements and completing the right documentation at the right stages. Our NSW Business Battery Incentive Service manages that process with you, from the first eligibility check through to the certificate claim.
The service is priced from $490 per project as an indicative starting price; larger or more complex projects are quoted in writing.

NSW indicates the incentive is around 30-40% of battery installation cost for eligible combined solar-and-battery installations, depending on circumstances, with the value set by the certificate market. Because certificate prices move and program rules can change, estimates may differ from the final amount, so confirm current details on the official NSW business page before signing.
What affects the price: battery size, the number of sites, whether solar is included and how much documentation the project needs. The service fee is separate from the battery installation, which is quoted after a site assessment.
