String-by-string current-voltage (IV) curve testing of your commercial solar array, compared with expected performance to find degradation, mismatch and shading losses.
From $1,290 (Up to 100 kW), including GST. Indicative starting price: the final fixed price is confirmed in writing after a site assessment.
Monitoring can tell you a commercial solar system is producing less than expected, but not why. IV curve testing measures the full current-voltage characteristic of each string under real sunlight. Comparing each curve with the expected curve for the panels, temperature and irradiance shows whether losses come from degradation, damaged cells, faulty diodes, wiring resistance, mismatch or shading.
Our licensed electricians test every string using a calibrated IV curve tracer with irradiance and temperature sensors, then analyse the results string by string. Testing starts from $1,290 for systems up to 100 kW. This is an indicative starting price; the final fixed price is confirmed in writing after we review the system design, string count and access.
We design and install commercial systems, so we understand how string design, panel choice and installation quality affect the curves we measure. We turn test data into practical decisions, such as which strings to repair, what to claim under warranty and whether performance is normal for the system's age. We are a New Energy Tech Approved Seller with $20 million public liability cover, and repairs can be carried out by our licensed electricians.
Commercial and industrial solar owners with underperforming systems, warranty questions, older arrays or a system being purchased with a building.
Testing needs sunlight and short shutdowns. Each string is briefly isolated while it is measured, so parts of the system stop producing for short periods. Accurate results need clear, stable sunlight, so testing may be rescheduled for weather.
Panels commonly lose around 0.4-0.55% of their output a year, so some difference from the datasheet is normal for older arrays; the report separates expected ageing from real faults. IV curve testing pairs well with thermal imaging, which locates the individual panel causing a problem. The price depends on string count, inverter and combiner box access, and site induction requirements.
1. Request testing and share the system design, panel models and monitoring data.
2. We review the string layout and access and confirm a fixed written price.
3. We schedule testing for a clear day and agree shutdown windows with your site contact.
4. Our licensed electricians isolate and test each string in turn.
5. You receive a written report with curves, findings and recommended actions.
The listed price is an indicative starting price for systems up to 100 kW; the final fixed price is confirmed in writing after we review the design and access.
Strings are briefly isolated during testing, reducing production for short periods.
Testing requires clear, stable sunlight and may be rescheduled for weather.
Missing panel datasheets or system documents may increase analysis time and cost, confirmed before testing.
Repairs and panel replacements are not included and are quoted separately.
