Hot water is often the first step, because it is a large energy use and an efficient electric system can run on your own solar during the day. Our Gas to Electric Hot-Water Conversion handles the full changeover: removing the gas system, installing efficient electric hot water, usually a heat pump, and adding the new electrical circuit it needs.

A gas conversion involves three trades: gas, plumbing and electrical. We coordinate them so you deal with one team, the work is completed in the right order and you are not left without hot water for longer than necessary. Because we also install solar and batteries, we set up your new system to make the most of your own solar generation and can advise on the next steps in electrifying your home.

Disconnecting the hot water does not close your gas account. If hot water was your last gas appliance, you can ask your gas retailer to close the account and arrange meter removal, which may involve a fee from the retailer or network. If you still cook or heat with gas, the supply to those appliances stays in place.
What affects the price: the switchboard's capacity and condition, cable run length, tank size, installation location and whether plumbing changes are needed. Eligible heat-pump systems may attract government incentives, which we check at quote; confirm current values on the official pages before signing.

2. We assess your gas system, switchboard and installation location, then provide a fixed-price written quote.
3. Once you accept, we schedule the gasfitter, plumber and our licensed electricians.
4. The gas system is disconnected and removed, the new circuit is installed and the new system is connected.
5. We commission the system, set the solar timer and explain the settings.

Gas disconnection is carried out by a licensed gasfitter, plumbing by a licensed plumber and electrical work by our licensed electricians.

Closing a gas account or removing the gas meter is arranged with your gas retailer, and any fees are charged by them.
