They discount a system at the point of sale, and their value depends on system size, your postcode zone, the installation year and the certificate price at the time. Because the value steps down each 1 January as the scheme runs to 2030, it pays to know what your system should attract before you sign a contract.
Our STC Assessment and Processing service checks whether your planned system is eligible and estimates the certificate value, so you can compare quotes with confidence. As a standalone service it is $49 per system (indicative pricing). With a Blue Energy Solar installation, it is included at no charge.

For a typical 6.6 kW system installed in 2026, STCs take roughly $1,700-$1,800 off the price. The installer creates the certificates and assigns them in exchange for the point-of-sale discount, so you do not claim anything separately. The system must be new, use products on the approved lists and be designed and installed by an SAA-accredited installer.
Because the value steps down each 1 January and certificate prices move, confirm the current value on the official Clean Energy Regulator page before signing. Your final solar price is always confirmed after a site assessment.
1. Request the assessment and tell us your postcode and planned system size, or share a quote you hold.
2. We check the eligibility requirements, including products, installer accreditation and timing.
3. We estimate the number and value of STCs for your system.
4. You receive a short written summary showing how the discount should appear on your quote.
5. If you install with Blue Energy Solar, we create and assign the STCs and apply the discount at point of sale.
The assessment fee applies to standalone assessments only; it is not charged, or is credited, when Blue Energy Solar installs the system.
STC values are estimates; the final value depends on the installation date and the certificate price at that time.
Eligibility requires a new system, approved products and an SAA-accredited installer.
